Art Show

The Young Affiliates hosted our inaugural juried art show, 80x80: An Art Show, at the Mint Uptown in June 2016 featuring 80 works of art in commemoration of The Mint Museum's 80th anniversary. 80x80: An Art Show featured a survey of local and national artist and was named the Best Exhibit of 2016 by Creative Loafing's readers. The Young Affiliates' second juried art show, GENDERED: An Inclusive Art Show, will be held at the Mint Uptown this summer.

Cultural Engagement Events

Throughout the year, we feature opportunities at the Mint and other Charlotte cultural organizations that enrich our everyday lives with art. Events range from social gatherings such as curatorial tours of the Mint Museum's exhibitions and gallery crawls. Past events include a tour of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, a photography class taught at The Light Factory, and a preview of fashion and trends with Belk fashion designers followed by a private tour of Mint Museum Randolph’s historic costume collection.

Fall Ball

Every November the Young Affiliates host their signature gala event celebrating the Mint Museum, our city's art and culture landmark. Get dressed up and dance the night away to live music, all while raising money for the Young Affiliate's annual fund contribution to the Mint Museum.

Derby Days

Derby Days is the Young Affiliates' longest running event - 26 years and counting! Derby Days is the perfect way to enjoy a spring afternoon on the lawn of Mint Museum Randolph. Bring your friends for a day of entertainment that includes live music, lawn games, and a large-screen viewing of the Derby, live from Louisville, Kentucky. Attendees arrive decked out in sundresses and seersucker to watch “The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports,” listen to music, and enjoy free beverages and food from top area restaurants.
