Patricia Harrity, Membership Retention Chair

Patricia works as a team leader for Triune Capitol Advisors. The UNC Charlotte grad has been with the YAMs for several years, serving as committee member on Black and White. She is exicted to move into her new role on the board and hopes to help keep current members as involved and enthusiastic about the group as she is.

Johnatan Romero, Membership Recruitment Chair
Johnatan Romero, Membership Recruitment Chair

Johnatan, who is originally from Colombia South America, moved to Charlotte to attend college at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After graduating, he stayed in Charlotte because of his love of this city. Johnatan is a Mortgage Consultant with New American Mortgage and helps clients with purchasing or refinancing their home.

Lindsay Albright, Membership Engagement & Promotions Chair

After growing up in Kansas, Lindsay set off for school at Baylor University in Texas. In 2009 she followed her family to Charlotte and soon went to work for Hood Hargett and Associates. In her spare time she volunteers with her Forest Hill Life Group, enjoys time with family and friends, and loves weekends on the lake with her dog, Stella. This is her second year on the board and sheÕs excited to devote her term to membership promotion and engagement.

John Elliott, Mint Partnerships Chair

John Elliott is excited about his second year on the YAM board and can’t wait to work with the Mint Museum on First Look Fridays.

John graduated in 2005 from Davidson College with a major in Political Science and a minor in theater. John now works as Vice President of Davidson Chocolate Co. where he manages sales development and marketing. When he’s not at the chocolate store, you’ll find him selling residential real estate with Coldwell Banker United, Realtors throughout the Charlotte area. He is an admitted workaholic.

Outside of the Young Affiliates John is active in the Rotary and volunteers with the Boy Scouts. He loves racquetball, golfing, NPR, dance parties, UT football, and the idea of reading.

Jessica Thomas, Cultural Partnerships Chair
Jessica Thomas, Cultural Partnerships Chair

Jessica is an art historian/intern architect turned business owner. She owns Speak Your Design, a local business offering communications and management services for the arts and design industries. As a first-year board member, Jessica is excited to develop partnerships with other cultural organizations in town on behalf of the Young Affiliates.

Hailing from the mountains of East Tennessee, Jessica maintains a love of music, rainforests, dance and dinosaurs. After earning her architecture degree from UNC Charlotte, she decided to stay in town, despite its relatively flat landscape, for her clients, the food (hooray for a city full of culinary grads!) and the arts scene. Also a Mint docent, Jessica is happy to show you her favorite works in the collection at the next museum-based YAM event.

Lauren Newton, Development Chair
Lauren Newton, Development Chair

Lauren is a Gastonia native and attended Elon University where she received her degree in Political Science and International Studies. She worked as a political consultant in Raleigh and attended law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was active in pro bono legal work.

Lauren now works as an attorney in Charlotte. She enjoys running, traveling, cooking, and going to the theatre. She’s also a die hard NC State fan.

This is Lauren’s first year on the YAM board and she’s loved meeting many of Charlotte’s young professionals through YAM happy hours!

Lauren Henry, Development Vice-Chair
Lauren Henry, Development Vice-Chair

Lauren grew up in Cleveland, Ohio but has called Charlotte her home for the past four years.

She graduated with a business degree from John Carroll University and is an Assistant Vice President at Red Stone Equity Partners, a national syndicator of tax credits in the affordable housing industry.

Lauren has been a member of the Young Affiliates for two years and has served on the marketing committee for the Black & White Gala. Outside of work she enjoys working out, cooking, learning tennis, and spending time with family and friends. Lauren is looking forward
to having a successful first year as a board member.

Allison Purmort, Development Vice-Chair
Allison Purmort, Development Vice-Chair

Allison is originally from Los Angeles, and is a graduate of American University in Washington DC. She spent five years working in the luxury goods industry before settling in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Allison is currently pursuing a law degree at the Charlotte School of Law and intends to focus on a Family Law practice. She is devoted to a pro-bono program assisting with divorce and child custody and currently works for the Department of Social Services.

In her spare time she likes to read and play tennis, and of course, attend Young Affiliate Events!

Grant Cruise, Public Relations/Marketing Chair
Grant Cruise, Public Relations/Marketing Chair

Grant is a graduate of UNC at Greensboro. He grew up all over North and South Carolina, but is proud to call himself a North Mecklenburg High School alumnus. Since returning to the area, Grant has worked for several local TV stations. He is currently a producer at News 14 Carolina.

When he isnÍt working, Grant enjoys researching genealogy and the history of Charlotte. He also spends many of his weekends visiting family in Virginia. Grant is excited about his third year on the YAM board.

Erin Walsch, Website/Social Media Chair

Erin was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and loves all things Baltimore, including crab cakes and the Ravens. She attended Roanoke College and after graduation continued her move even further down south to Charlotte, NC.

She is fascinated and often consumed by all things digital – especially social media and the search engine world. When not connected to the web, Erin enjoys spending time with her family and friends. After serving on the Black and White committee, Erin is very excited about starting her first year on the YAM board!

May Chrisman, Mint Membership Coordinator
May Chrisman, Mint Membership Coordinator

Most recently, May was one of two Event Planners at Charlotte Country Club, where she spearheaded the planning and implementation of weddings, golf outings and corporate events and meetings. In this position, May had the opportunity to immerse herself in the Charlotte community, and worked closely with many civic leaders who became positive examples in her life.

Prior to her move to Charlotte, May was living in New York City and working for Time Inc., where she was an integral member of a team
of six facilitating all events for PEOPLE, People en Espa–ol, PEOPLE’s StyleWatch, People.com, and Entertainment Weekly. She enjoyed working on such events as the Grammys, Emmys, SAG Awards, client entertainment experiences, and more. She began her career at Time Inc. working in publishing for In Style magazine.

Originally from Bronxville, New York and a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, May is glad to be back in the south and close to family and friends, including her parents in Black Mountain, North Carolina.”
