President's Message
|
Please join me in welcoming the 2008-09 Young Affiliates Board! I am thrilled
to lead this group of extremely talented and committed individuals. Our
goal this year is to make sure you get the most out of your membership
by providing creative outlets to explore the arts and the Mint Museum,
offering meaningful volunteer and leadership opportunities and
organizing fun social activities to help you meet new people.
When
I moved back to Charlotte five years ago, I joined the Young Affiliates
as a way to get involved in the community and meet new people. I signed
up for a few committees and met more and more folks. Little did I know,
I was forming friendships I will have for the rest of my life.
If
you’ve thought about getting involved or if you’re new to town and want
to meet people – I encourage you to take a look at the volunteer
opportunities we have to offer our members. Committees including
Membership, the Aquavina Wine Tasting event and the Black & White
Gala are recruiting for volunteers now.
With
the Mint Museum expansion in the works, it’s an exciting time to be a
part of the Mint and the Young Affiliates - and with a full year of
activities planned, we need volunteers! And, we are always looking for
new members. If you haven't taken the plunge to join yet, I encourage you to do so today.
